When it comes to medication management, we believe in the principle of “less is more” and discourage the use of poly-pharmacy, while embracing integration of therapies, lifestyle modifications as well as mindfulness based interventions to help provide the best possible outcome. Seeking treatment for mental health should never be intimidating. We at Monarch Psychiatry of California, strive to provide the best services possible without the unnecessary layers of bureaucracy and complexity.
Scheduling an Appointment
In order to schedule an appointment, we ask that you follow “schedule an appointment” link on the website and complete a brief set of questions. You may also indicate a preferred date and time of appointment. You can also request an appointment via email at email@example.com or call 949-216-0294. We will respond to your request within 24 business hours.
We have a detailed intake process designed to provide the best services possible. Prior to the first visit, please download the new patients INTAKE forms available under the forms tab on the website. We ask that you carefully fill out all of the closed forms prior to your appointment and bring them with you. Should there be any problems with downloading the form, please reach out to us and we will provide you with an electronic copy. Please plan to arrive 30 minutes early for your initial appointment. We ask that you bring copies of prior treatment records, neuropsychological tests, recent laboratory results and our IEPs at the visit. Our office suite utilizes an on call light system next to your treatment provider’s name. The provider will then greet you in the lobby. Typically intake appointment lasts anywhere from 60-90 minute. A feedback session for 50 minutes is often necessary within the next 2 weeks to go over the diagnostic impressions and a comprehensive treatment plan. A comprehensive diagnostic assessments allows us to provide state of the art care and to ensure safe practices.
Method for returning you Intake Packet
These include emailing the packet to firstname.lastname@example.org or bring the completed form with you to your appointment.
At Monarch Psychiatry of California, we strive to provide excellent care with a focus on patient safety. Once a medication is prescribed, we make sure to provide you with enough medications to last you until the next appointment. However, it is important that you attend visits on a regular basis in order for us to monitor progress, maximize safety and minimize errors. If you are to run out of medications, please let us know at least 3 business days in advance to refill a prescription. You are expected to have an appointment in place when a refill is requested. If an appointment is rescheduled, we will do our best to accommodate you needs in the next couple weeks and provide you with enough medications to last until the next appointment.
Monarch Psychiatry of California does not participate in any insurance networks. Fees are collected at the time of service as an out-of pocket expense. We are more than happy to provide superbills that you have the option of submitting to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Cancellation/No show Policy
We understand that you may occasionally have difficulty keeping your scheduled appointment. Our automated system will provide you a courtesy reminder 3 business days prior to the appointment, at which time you have the option to confirm or cancel the appointment. Cancellations should be made atleast 48 business hours (excluding weekends or holidays) prior to the appointment time. Cancellations made prior to 48 hours will be charged the full session fee. This is important as we reserve the time slot for each appointment.
Professional Fees For Psychiatrists
Initial 90-minute consultation = $700
50-minute follow-up sessions (therapy sessions +/- medication management) = $500
25-minute follow-up sessions (generally medication management only) = $300
Professional fees for Psychologists/Therapists:
50-minute sessions with psychologist (Ph.D. or Psy.D) = $250
50-minute sessions with master’s level therapist (M.F.T. or L.C.S.W.) = $200
Professional fees for Psychological Testing:
Full Psychological Testing = $4,500
Targeted Psychological Testing = $250 per hour
Mental Health Records
Monarch Psychiatry of California uses an electronic medical system called Luminello. We strive to maintain the highest level of privacy, in accordance with the current legal and professional standards. We will always make sure to maintain compliance with the HIPPA regulations. We reserve the right to change our electronic medical record system, if indicated.
Confidentiality is our topmost priority and is also protected by the law. We can only release information about our work with written permission. Please see below regarding possible exceptions. Please note that these exceptions are rare and it is our goal to always maintain strict confidentiality.
- Insurances companies generally require some basic information if you choose to seek reimbursement.
- Electronic Health Records are also third parties that are subject to similar confidentiality standards.
- Requirement by law to report or take action:(a) Making provisions for your safety if there is a threat of imminent harm to yourself,(b) Taking protective actions (including notifying potential victims or police) if there is a threat of serious bodily harm to others,(c) Reporting potential child, elder, or dependent abuse,(d) Legal testimony if subpoenaed/ordered by a court,(e) Assisting in accessing services if a patient is unable to meet their basic needs (including food, clothing, and/or shelter) due to a mental illness.(f) Public health disclosures: to prevent control communicable disease, report vital events like births and deaths,
Electronic Mail Policy
We do not recommend communication via unsecure email, especially pertaining to clinical information. For convenience to patients and families, we are willing to schedule appointment via email. Any information pertaining to a clinical discourse, should happen over a secure phone line or in the scheduled appointment. By providing us your email address on the patient information form, you are agreeing that email is an acceptable form of communication for you despite its limitations with respect to confidentiality.

In Irvine, our patient parking structure is located right across the Airport Towe. The cost of parking is $2.0 with validation. In order to park, please arrive to your appointment on time and allow 10 minutes of travel time.
